Anthony currently serves as the Water Polo Head Coach and Varsity Swim Coach. He has been a dedicated member of American Aquatics since 2014, focusing on helping student-athletes achieve their full potential as a whole person. His program emphasizes core values such as grit, fun, discipline, competitive spirit, teamwork, community, and respect. In recognition of his commitment and impact, he was honored as American High School's "Coach of the Year" for the 2024 season.
Anthony's dedication to the sport extends to his family as well. His three sons attended American High School, where all three sons played and served as captains of both the water polo and swim teams. Two of his sons were named "Athlete of the Year" at American High.
In addition to his coaching roles at American High, Anthony has coached water polo at Mission San Jose and SoAC. He also holds the highest coaching certification available, the National Federation of High School (NFHS) Coach Level 3.
Alex graduated from American in 2015 and played 4 years of water polo and was captain of Varsity his senior year. Alex graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Finance and now works in real estate in the Bay Area. He looks forward to coaching water polo as it was his favorite and most successful sport. In his free time, Alex plays hockey and basketball, and loves to surf and scuba along the California coast. Alex wants to bring his water polo knowledge and experience to the team and helps students develop into successful student athletes.
Shaan began playing playing water polo for Washington High School in 2018 during his junior year and began playing for SoAC the following summer. After graduating in 2020, he went on to San Jose State University to study Kinesiology, where he is about to begin his fourth year. He is currently playing for the SJSU Club team and practices with both the Burlingame and Bay Area Masters water polo teams in the off season. He has been playing goalie for almost five years now and is excited to share what he has learned with the goalies at American High School.
Coach Josh started his coaching journey as an assistant coach for the Swim Team during the 24-25 season. He has been swimming for as long as he could remember and swam all four years of his high school career on Varsity. He is also a Living Earth teacher at American High School. He looks forward to continuing his growth as a coach and learning how to help swimmers reach their highest potential.
